A SENSE OF COMMUNITY

A new book by Vivienne Allan

Celebrating 100 years of Presbyterian Support Services in the Upper South Island

A Sense of Community traces the history of Presbyterian Support from 1908 to 2008. “Presbyterian Support is a rich mine of historical information, as much for the story the records tell as for the sense of purpose they portray,” writes author Vivienne Allan. “It is seldom that an opportunity like this presents itself: to write about an organisation that has been selfless in its mission from the outset and has fought hard in its first 100 years, to provide shelter, a neutral forum and to advocate for the socially deprived in our community.”
